SIO-9312 is a methyl vinyl polysilazane polymer with a Si–N bonded backbone. The molecular structure contains reactive carbon-carbon double bonds (Si–C=CH₂), offering unsaturated reactive sites. This polymer exhibits unique reactivity: the Si–N bonds readily react with hydroxyl-containing substances, enabling its use as an amine-type curing agent. Meanwhile, the unsaturated double bonds allow for addition reactions, facilitating molecular weight regulation or functional group introduction.
SIO-9312 combines the processability of organosilicon materials with the high-temperature resistance of inorganic compounds, offering thermal stability up to 600–800°C. It can also be pyrolyzed into ceramic materials. Price: $120/L

Methyl Vinyl Polysilazane Applications
Resin Modification
Through addition reactions between its vinyl groups and unsaturated resins (e.g., polybutadiene, unsaturated polyester), SIO-9312 significantly enhances the crosslinking density and thermal resistance. For hydroxyl-containing resins (such as epoxy or phenolic), the Si–N bonds participate in the curing reaction, increasing the glass transition temperature (Tg) by 20–30%, and improving weatherability and UV resistance.
Rubber Industry
As a processing aid for silicone rubber, it optimizes the microstructure of vulcanized rubber and raises the heat resistance by over 50°C. It also improves tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Suitable for synthetic rubbers such as SBR and NBR, introducing silazane structures enhances thermal and mechanical performance.
Ceramic Precursors and Functional Coatings
SIO-9312 serves as a precursor for fabricating SiC/Si₃N₄ composite ceramics, ideal for high-temperature components in aerospace engines. In coatings, its derivatives form dense protective layers that provide corrosion and oxidation resistance, maintaining performance under extreme conditions.

Application Instructions
Standard Procedure:
Surface treatment → Sandblasting/rust removal → Cleaning & drying → Coating → Curing
Key Notes:
- Surface Preparation: Sandblast or grind to remove oxide scale, rust, and oil. Recommended surface cleanliness: Sa2.5 (optimal), minimum St3.
- Cleaning & Drying: Use a dedicated degreaser or cleaner; ensure surface is thoroughly dry.
- Product Preparation: Single-component liquid; shake well before use and filter with 400-mesh.
- Application: Spray recommended (nozzle 0.5–1.0 mm) for best film uniformity and appearance.
- Curing: For <400°C use: bake at 180°C for 30 min after 10 min air dry. For >400°C use: bake at 250°C for 30 min after 10 min air dry.
Storage & Transportation Requirements
- Store in a dry, cool, and ventilated place, away from heat and open flames. Keep sealed and avoid direct sunlight.
- Storage temperature: 5–30°C; shelf life: 6 months.
- Reseal any unused material immediately to prevent moisture contamination.
- Do not reuse leftover mixed coating. Dispose of according to local regulations.
