Polyborosilazane Resin (PBSZ) | SIOResin® SIO-9915

SIO-9915 Polyborosilazane Resin (PBSZ) is a high-performance ceramic precursor resin designed for the preparation of advanced SiBCN (silicon boron carbon nitride) ceramic materials through pyrolysis conversion. With the incorporation of boron, polyborosilazane resin forms stable Si–N, B–N, and B–C–N ceramic networks, providing excellent high-temperature stability, oxidation resistance, creep resistance, and thermal shock resistance. The resulting SiBCN ceramics maintain outstanding structural integrity under extreme conditions.

SIO-9915 offers excellent electrical insulation, gas barrier performance, radiation resistance, and thermal stability, making it suitable for advanced ceramic coatings, electronic component protection, sealing materials, gas barrier films, and aerospace high-temperature applications.

Application Method

Standard Application Process: Surface Cleaning → Surface Roughening → Cleaning and Drying → Coating Application → Curing

Instructions for Use:

  • 1. Surface Preparation: Sand or grit blast the substrate to remove rust, dust, and contaminants. Sa2.5 is recommended, with St3 as the minimum requirement (GB/T 30790.4-2014).
  • 2. Cleaning & Drying: Clean the surface with suitable agents and ensure the substrate is completely dry before application.
  • 3. Coating Preparation: This is a single-component system. Filter through a 120-mesh filter before use.
  • 4. Coating Application: A 1.0 mm spray nozzle is recommended for uniform coating appearance. Recoating is not recommended after curing due to hydrophobic and oleophobic properties.
  • 5. Curing: Room-temperature curing requires more than 24 hours. Heating at 85–180°C can accelerate curing. Nitrogen-atmosphere ceramic conversion requires a controlled heating profile.

Precautions

  • 1. Always follow the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
  • 2. Wear solvent-resistant gloves (e.g., butyl rubber), safety goggles, and appropriate A2 B2 E2 K2 Hg/P3 respirators.
  • 3. Keep out of reach of children.
  • 4. Store in a cool, dry, ventilated area below 30°C.
  • 5. Do not mix waste with protonic substances (e.g., water, alcohols). Dispose of waste at authorized facilities.
